Job Description


We are seeking a Registered Technologist, Medical Imaging, FTT with experience in Nuclear Medicine to join our team. As a key member of our imaging department, you will perform imaging examinations in the modality of Nuclear Medicine, operate imaging equipment, and work effectively within an inter-professional team to provide complete patient care.



Responsibilities:



  • Perform all Nuclear Medicine and Nuclear Cardiology imaging examinations and procedures as required
  • Work as part of an inter-professional team with physicians and other healthcare professionals within the hospital
  • Work in accordance with departmental radiation safety policies/procedures and guidelines
  • Optimize the processes and quality of images provided
  • Assume all operational responsibility when on shift
  • Assist the Radiologist when required
  • Follow proper procedures for care and cleaning of equipment, imaging rooms, and supplies
  • Adhere to established policies and procedures of the Department of Medical Imaging at North York General Hospital


Required Skills and Qualifications



  • Current registration in good standing with the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario (CMRITO) in Nuclear Medicine
  • Bachelor's Degree and Advanced Diploma in Nuclear Medicine Technology approved under the CMRITO
  • BCLS certification is an asset
  • Membership with OAMRS Specialty Certificate is preferred
  • Knowledge and experience with angio catheter insertions, IV skills, and insertion is an asset
  • One year of recent post-graduate Nuclear Medicine clinical experience as Registered Technologist including SPECT/CT is preferred
  • Recent hospital experience is an asset
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, problem-solving, and team-building skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment, as well as independently
  • Demonstrates understanding and complies with patient and staff safety policies and procedures to foster a safe and inclusive environment for all
  • Demonstrated excellent computer skills
  • Bilingualism in French/English is an asset
