Rail Track Maintenance at CN is a physically demanding role that requires attention to detail and the ability to work in various weather conditions. As a Rail Track Maintainer, you will be responsible for inspecting, repairing, and replacing rails, ties, switches, and ballasts. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team that ensures the safety and efficiency of Canada's rail network.

About the Role:
The Rail Track Maintainer is responsible for performing outdoor tasks in varying environmental conditions. The role involves maintaining train rails, ties, switches, and ballasts through inspection, repair, and replacement. You will also be required to maintain hand tools, remove and replace defective ties, rails spikes, and anchors, and repair deviations in track surface, alignment, and gauge. Additionally, you will install and repair street and railroad crossings and assist in the replacement or repair of items such as power-operated switches and insulated joints. You will unload ballasts and distribute track material, sort used track material for loading, and ensure the railroad right-of-way is clear of brush, vegetation, snow, and litter. Furthermore, you will ensure a safe working environment by following CN's safety policies and procedures.

Requirements:
This role requires relevant work experience in similar working conditions or regulatory and safety environments. You should have experience operating heavy equipment and machinery, a valid driver's license, and be at least 18 years old. You must meet all medical fitness for duty requirements for the position, including those related to safety. You should be able to work autonomously, adapt to different situations, and manage stress. You should also demonstrate good teamwork and maintain positive interactions with others. You should be dedicated to getting the job done while meeting established standards of quality, safety, productivity, and client satisfaction. Finally, you should display common sense and good judgment, possess hand-eye coordination, grasping skills, welding skills, and knowledge of signals or Railroad Operating Rules.

Salary Estimate:
We estimate the salary for this role to be around $65,000 - $85,000 per year, based on industry standards and the location.
