Job SummaryWe are seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team. As a key member of our crew, you will perform minor and major repairs, overhauls, and servicing of rail maintenance equipment, attachments, and material handling equipment.
Responsibilities- Perform minor and major repairs, overhauls, and servicing of rail maintenance equipment, attachments, and material handling equipment
- Use electric and oxy-acetylene welding equipment, lubrication, and other repair tools
- Record details on prescribed forms according to established procedures
- Work closely with management and maintain regular communication
- Uphold all applicable health and safety policies
- Perform repairs outdoors in various weather conditions at different times of the day
- Operate and maintain a service truck in accordance with standards
- Must have experience with electric and gas welding equipment
- Must be interprovincial red seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent; experienced 4th year apprentices will be considered
- Must have own hand tools up to 1 1/4 inches
- Must be capable of lifting 50 pounds
- Must be willing to travel within BC/AB on assigned work cycles
- Must have a valid Class 5 Driver's License
$60,000 - $90,000 per year
