Railway Equipment Technician

CN is a leader in North America's railroad industry, and we're seeking a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our maintenance team in BC/AB. As a key member of our crew, you'll be responsible for performing repairs, overhauls, and servicing of various rail equipment and attachments.
About the RoleThis is a critical position that requires a strong foundation in heavy duty mechanics, with a focus on electric and gas welding equipment. You'll work closely with management and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of our maintenance operations.
We offer a competitive salary of $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth.
Duties and Responsibilities- Perform routine maintenance tasks, including lubrication, inspection, and repair of equipment.
- Use electric and gas welding equipment to perform repairs and fabrications.
- Operate and maintain a service truck in accordance with standards.
- Work closely with management to ensure effective communication and problem-solving.
- Meet all safety and regulatory requirements.
- Must have experience in electric and gas welding equipment.
- Must be interprovincial red seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent, experienced 4th year apprentices will be considered.
- Must have own hand tools up to 1 1⁄4".
- Must be capable of lifting 50lbs.
- Must be willing to travel within BC/AB on assigned work cycle.
- Must have a valid Class (5) Driver's License.
