At CN, we're looking for a skilled Heavy Duty Mechanic to join our team in BC/AB. As a key member of our maintenance crew, you'll be responsible for performing repairs, overhauls, and servicing of various rail equipment and attachments.

About the Job

This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires a strong foundation in heavy duty mechanics, with a focus on electric and gas welding equipment. You'll work closely with management and other team members to ensure the smooth operation of our maintenance operations.

We offer a competitive salary of $80,000-$110,000 per year, depending on experience, plus benefits and opportunities for career growth.

Responsibilities
  • Perform minor and major repairs, overhauls, and servicing of all types of rail maintenance equipment, attachments, and material handling equipment.
  • Work closely and keep in regular communication with management.
  • Uphold all applicable health and safety policies.
  • Perform repairs outside in all weather conditions at varying times of the day.
  • Operate and maintain a service truck in accordance with standards.
Requirements
  • Must have experience in electric and gas welding equipment.
  • Must be interprovincial red seal Heavy Duty Mechanic or equivalent, experienced 4th year apprentices will be considered.
  • Must have own hand tools up to 1 1⁄4".
  • Must be capable of lifting 50lbs.
  • Must be willing to travel within BC/AB on assigned work cycle.
  • Must have a valid Class (5) Driver's License.
