POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) division integrates esteemed wholesale coverage with exceptional product, financing, and advisory capabilities within a unified team, allowing us to optimally serve our clientele.

Our cross-functional, product-agnostic coverage teams encompass all sectors to promote the bank's offerings on a global scale, while delivering top-tier capital raising, financing, and advisory services.

As part of the Credit Portfolio Management Group ("CPM"), the Credit Analyst will operate under the guidance of a Director - Senior Credit Analyst and contribute to a team tasked with overseeing a portfolio that includes significant US corporations and subsidiaries of international entities across various sectors.

The Credit Analyst's responsibilities will include crafting detailed credit assessments, scrutinizing legal documentation, and conducting ongoing portfolio evaluations under the mentorship of the Senior Credit Analyst.

Daily Responsibilities:

Producing high-quality credit submissions and annual evaluations of corporate clients to determine their creditworthiness, while recommending suitable credit limits, terms, and conditions.

This entails analyzing financial statements (Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow), assessing the client's strategic direction, evaluating business risks, industry trends, and competitive landscapes.

Formulating financial forecasts and assessing debt repayment capabilities, while ensuring adherence to SGS Credit Policies.

Updating and proposing Obligor Risk Ratings.

Monitoring compliance with covenants.

Examining all pertinent legal documents (e.g., credit agreements, Guarantees, ISDA, CSA) and suggesting modifications as needed to align with SGS policies.

Collaborating with other CPM teams across the US, Europe, and Asia, as well as engaging with business lines, bankers, legal & compliance, operations, and the Risk department.


Required Skills and Qualifications:

CORE COMPETENCIES
Proficient financial analytical abilities.
Capability to evaluate credit terms and conditions, including financial covenants, security, and collateral.
Strong comprehension of commercial and investment banking products.
Team-oriented mindset with the ability to collaborate with teams in various locations (US, India, Europe).
Excellent writing skills, particularly in evaluating and summarizing financial transactions (credit requests, covenant waivers, etc.).
In-depth understanding of accounting, legal, and regulatory frameworks governing relevant sectors.
Ability to investigate, research, and synthesize data to draw appropriate conclusions regarding observed outcomes.
Competence in analyzing and assessing counterparty risk and financial health using both quantitative and qualitative data.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES
Solid grasp of finance and accounting principles.
Experience in preparing financial forecasts under diverse scenarios.
Proficient in using Word for written analysis and Excel for spreadsheet analysis.
Familiarity with capital markets, traded products, and committed financing arrangements.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
Approximately 8-10 years of experience as a credit analyst within a corporate and investment banking environment or a related field.
A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Proficiency in English, both spoken and written, is essential as the individual in this role will need to engage regularly with colleagues and partners in the United States.
