POSITION OVERVIEW:

SGS Société Générale de Surveillance SA is seeking a seasoned professional to join our Global Banking and Advisory (GLBA) team. This role is situated within the Credit Portfolio Management Group (CPM), where the Credit Analyst will operate under the guidance of a Director - Senior Credit Analyst. The successful candidate will engage in managing a diverse portfolio that includes major US corporations and international subsidiaries across various sectors.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Developing detailed credit applications and conducting annual evaluations of corporate clients to determine their creditworthiness, while recommending suitable credit limits, terms, and conditions.
  • Creating financial forecasts and assessing debt repayment capabilities, ensuring adherence to SGS Credit Policies.
  • Recommending and updating Obligor Risk Ratings as necessary.
  • Overseeing compliance with financial covenants.
  • Examining all pertinent legal documents (such as credit agreements, Guaranty, ISDA, CSA) and suggesting modifications to align with SGS policies.
  • Collaborating with other CPM teams across various regions, including the US, Europe, and Asia, as well as engaging with business lines, bankers, legal and compliance teams, operations, and the Risk department.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

CORE COMPETENCIES

  • Exceptional financial analytical capabilities.
  • Proficient in evaluating credit terms and conditions, including financial covenants, security, and collateral.
  • In-depth knowledge of commercial and investment banking products.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team, including interaction with teams located in different geographical areas.
  • Strong written communication skills, particularly in summarizing and assessing financial transactions.
  • Comprehensive understanding of accounting, legal, and regulatory frameworks relevant to the industry.
  • Capability to investigate, research, and synthesize data to draw meaningful conclusions.
  • Expertise in analyzing and evaluating counterparty risk and financial health using both quantitative and qualitative data.

TECHNICAL PROFICIENCIES

  • Solid grasp of finance and accounting principles.
  • Experience in preparing financial projections under various scenarios.
  • Proficient in using Word for written analysis and Excel for data analysis.
  • Familiarity with capital markets, traded products, and committed financing facilities.

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience as a credit analyst within a corporate and investment banking environment or a related field.
  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.

LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY:

Fluency in English, both written and verbal, is essential as this role requires regular collaboration with colleagues and partners in the United States.
