About the Role
">Kootenay Employment Services Society is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Part-Time Family Support Specialist to join our team.
">Job Summary
">This role will provide therapy-based services to adoptive families and caregivers/families through our Family Strengthening Program.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Develop, implement, and evaluate family-based intervention plans in collaboration with the integrated case management team.">
- Provide culturally sensitive counselling services from a trauma-informed lens using best practices and evidence-based models.">
- Support parent-child relationships, strengthen parent capacity, and offer behaviour support.">
- Participate in group work and develop individualized plans for families.">
- Offer crisis support on weekends and evenings as needed.">
Requirements
">To be successful in this role, you will require:
">Education and Experience
">- A bachelor's level degree in Social Work, Child & Youth Care, or a related field.">
- Minimum 1 year of experience in outreach, crisis intervention, or family counselling.">
- Knowledge of brief therapy/solution-focused therapy, counselling, or related crisis intervention approaches.">
- An ability to utilize a wide range of strategies to deal with complex family issues.">
Salary Information
">The estimated salary for this role is $45,000 - $60,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience.
