The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to join our Strategy and Improvement portfolio at IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing our strategic framework, driving business growth, and improving patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, leadership, and change management, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be responsible for developing and implementing our annual strategic plan, overseeing the management and delivery of approved business cases and provincial transformation initiatives, and leading our continuous improvement program.

As a Director within our Strategy and Improvement portfolio, you will work closely with our Executive Leadership Team, Directors Council, and Board of Directors to create, deploy, and maintain our strategic framework. You will provide leadership and guidance to help foster a culture of accountability and transparency, and support the organization in developing and achieving its strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Level Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, or related subjects, and registration with a relevant health or professional discipline/college or association. You will have 5-8 years of experience in a relevant field of expertise, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. You will also possess expert content knowledge in key areas of leadership responsibility, including strategic planning, quality improvement methodologies, and cultural competence.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement our annual strategic plan and oversee the management and delivery of approved business cases and provincial transformation initiatives.
  • Lead our continuous improvement program, including the development and implementation of quality improvement methodologies.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to help foster a culture of accountability and transparency, and support the organization in developing and achieving its strategic objectives.
  • Work closely with our Executive Leadership Team, Directors Council, and Board of Directors to create, deploy, and maintain our strategic framework.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including staff, physicians, and partners.
Requirements
  • Master's Level Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, or related subjects.
  • Registration with a relevant health or professional discipline/college or association.
  • 5-8 years of experience in a relevant field of expertise, with a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role.
  • Expert content knowledge in key areas of leadership responsibility, including strategic planning, quality improvement methodologies, and cultural competence.
