The Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director to join our Strategy and Improvement portfolio at IWK Health Centre. As a key member of our leadership team, you will play a critical role in shaping and implementing our strategic framework, driving business growth, and improving patient outcomes.

The successful candidate will have a strong background in strategic planning, leadership, and change management, with a proven track record of delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. You will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our annual strategic plan, overseeing the management and delivery of approved business cases and provincial transformation initiatives, and developing and implementing our continuous improvement program.

You will also be responsible for leading and facilitating priority LEAN improvement projects, developing and implementing our enterprise risk management (ERM) framework, and providing leadership and guidance to a skilled team of managers, consultants, and analysts.

The ideal candidate will have a Master's Level Degree in a health-related discipline, health administration, or related subjects, with a minimum of 5-8 years of experience in a relevant field of expertise, including a minimum of 3 years in a leadership role. You will have expert content knowledge in key areas of leadership responsibility, including strategic planning, quality improvement methodologies, and change management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of our annual strategic plan
  • Oversee the management and delivery of approved business cases and provincial transformation initiatives
  • Develop and implement our continuous improvement program
  • Lead and facilitate priority LEAN improvement projects
  • Develop and implement our enterprise risk management (ERM) framework
  • Provide leadership and guidance to a skilled team of managers, consultants, and analysts

Requirements:
