About the Role

The Sustainability Manager at LMI Technologies is a pivotal position that requires a motivated individual to spearhead the organization's commitment to sustainability across environmental, social, and economic dimensions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement comprehensive sustainability projects to drive carbon neutrality across the organization, collaborating with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities, set targets, and execute initiatives effectively.
  • Establish effective systems for collecting, analyzing, and reporting sustainability data and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), ensuring data accuracy and consistency in accordance with relevant standards and guidelines.
  • Develop strategies and action plans to minimize carbon emissions, enhance energy efficiency, and promote the use of renewable resources throughout the organization, continuously monitoring progress towards carbon neutrality goals.
  • Act as a champion for sustainability within the organization, advocating for the adoption of environmentally responsible practices at all levels, engaging with stakeholders across departments and regions to build support for sustainability initiatives and drive cultural change towards a more sustainable mindset.
  • Ensure alignment of LMI's sustainability goals across the organization by working with Quality to review, improve and align our ISO 14001 EMS, and with the EcoSmart teams to improve and align team initiatives.
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements and industry best practices related to sustainability and carbon management, ensuring that the organization remains compliant with relevant regulations and proactively identifying and mitigating any potential sustainability-related risks.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to promote cross-functional alignment and create communication to share sustainability-related vision and program information, including ESG playbook/handbook, project updates, best practices, KPI's, etc.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Engineering, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience in managing sustainability initiatives, with a focus on carbon emissions reduction and ESG initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of carbon reporting methodologies, including emissions tracking, carbon offsetting, and carbon footprint analysis.
  • Deep understanding of sustainability principles, ESG frameworks and sustainable reporting practices.
  • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to plan, organize, and execute complex initiatives involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively influence and persuade others towards sustainable practices.
  • Knowledge of relevant regulations and standards related to sustainability and environmental management. ISO accreditation or experience is an asset.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and drive consensus towards shared goals.
  • Excellent strategic thinking, problem solving, and decision-making abilities.
