Our client is a professional services and research firm that works with indigenous communities across Canada. They are looking for a Manager, Sustainability & Management Services to join their fast-growing team in downtown Vancouver, Victoria or Calgary. They promote a strong team environment and look for leaders to help their organization grow and develop. Much of their work supports the implementation of the United Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous Peoples (“UNDRIP”) with a focus on Aboriginal rights and title, land use and occupancy studies, socio-economic studies, land use planning, stakeholder engagement, and industry and community relations.


Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement sustainability strategies, action plans, and programs that align our clients ESG goals.
  • Lead community engagement efforts, fostering positive relationships with local communities, stakeholders, and Indigenous groups.
  • Conduct sustainability assessments and provide recommendations for improvement to clients.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate sustainability into all aspects of project planning and execution.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations, reports, and proposals related to sustainability and community engagement.
  • Monitor and report on the effectiveness of sustainability initiatives and community engagement activities.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to sustainability and community engagement.
  • Lead or oversee all strategic planning, change management, and management consulting projects.
  • Represent Landmark at industry events, conferences, and community meetings.
  • Develop Company's internal Sustainability Policy and Program.


Qualifications:

  • 10+ years of experience in sustainability, community engagement, management consulting or a related role.
  • Ability to travel.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in the natural resources sector.
  • Experience working with Indigenous communities and understanding of Aboriginal rights, title, and interests
  • Masters degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • Professional certification in sustainability or project management.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and sustainability reporting tools.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong understanding of ESG principles, reporting standards, sustainability practices, and regulatory requirements.
