Job Overview

We are seeking a seasoned physician leader to assume the role of Regional Medical Director at Fraser Health Authority, serving as the heart of health care for over two million people in Metro Vancouver and the Fraser Valley.

This esteemed position offers an unparalleled opportunity to provide regional leadership and support the delivery of exceptional care and services within Fraser Health. As a trusted advisor and mentor, you will play a pivotal role in shaping medical care and practice standards across the region.

About the Role

  • Provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure the development and implementation of regional standards of care and practice.
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director, Hospital Medicine and Regional Department Head to drive quality improvement, patient safety, and risk management initiatives.
  • Recruit and develop physicians to meet program needs, ensuring effective contract management and credentialing processes.
  • Promote a culture of respect, caring, and trust among inter-disciplinary clinical leaders, administrators, and program team members.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Eligibility for membership on the Fraser Health Medical Staff.
  • Proven experience in leadership roles within the healthcare sector, including hospital-based positions.
  • A Master's degree in health administration or business administration is an asset.
  • Additional leadership training is preferred.
  • Experience with budgetary and operational planning is desirable.

Compensation Package

The successful candidate can expect a competitive stipend, active privileges, CMPA, and CPSBC Full benefits. We offer a 0.3 FTE (11.25 hours/week) time commitment, allowing for flexibility and ease of integration into your existing practice.
