About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Instructional Designer, Learning Technologies to join our Studio for Teaching and Learning team at Saint Mary's University. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing and developing innovative educational programs and courses that meet the diverse needs of learners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Educational Program Development: Create educational and training programs for faculty, students, professionals, and staff, utilizing various formats, including classroom-based, online classes, and self-study modules.
  • Curriculum Design and Development: Design, develop, modify, and organize curriculum to meet the diverse needs of learners and learning environments, incorporating applicable learning technologies to enhance curriculum delivery and engagement.
  • Technology Needs Analysis: Conduct analysis and evaluation to identify and request learning technologies that satisfy curriculum development needs, ensuring the selected technologies align with instructional design principles and best practices.
  • Application of Learning Technologies: Apply learning technologies as tools to support instructional design principles, pedagogy, and andragogy, utilizing innovative and ever-changing technology to create, enhance, improve, and adapt educational and training programs.
Requirements
  • Proven Experience: Proven experience in instructional design and curriculum development, with a strong understanding of instructional design principles, pedagogy, and andragogy.
  • Education: Post-secondary degree in a related field such as Adult Education, Curriculum Design, Computer Science, Business, or Organizational Development.
  • Expertise: Expertise in utilizing various learning technologies and tools, with excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work collaboratively within a team and manage multiple projects effectively, with strong people skills and exceptional project management, written, and verbal communication skills.
