About the Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Instructional Designer to join our Medical Affairs team at Nova Scotia Health Authority. As an Instructional Designer, you will be responsible for designing and developing engaging learning content and curriculum for medical staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop learning content and curriculum for medical staff
  • Collaborate with subject matter experts to create high-quality learning materials
  • Develop and implement learning strategies to meet the needs of medical staff
  • Conduct needs assessments and analysis to inform learning content development
  • Stay up-to-date with current and emerging trends in instructional design and online learning
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in Education, Instructional Design, or a related field
  • Post-academic Graduate Certificate in Instructional Design or a related field
  • Minimum three years' experience in instructional design, preferably in a healthcare setting
  • Knowledge of current and emerging trends in instructional design and online learning
  • Understanding of the LEADS framework and its application in a healthcare environment
  • Adult education and training experience
  • Digital literacy and proficiency in learning management systems
  • Experience with script, web authoring, and storyboard tools
  • Multi-media production tools and mobile learning software
  • Legislation related to instructional design and online learning
  • Formative and summative evaluation experience
  • Organizational, project, and time management skills
  • Interpersonal and communication skills
  • Facilitation experience
  • Microsoft Office and MS Teams proficiency
  • Cultural competence and commitment to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion
  • Problem-solving and user technical resolution skills
  • Membership or leadership role with the Canadian Association of Instructional Designers or the Institute for Performance and Learning
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development
