Finance Team Overview

The Finance department at Brex plays a pivotal role in financial planning and analysis, as well as corporate development, which encompasses board communications, investor relations, fundraising, and mergers and acquisitions. Our mission is to act as catalysts for change rather than merely a reporting entity. We work closely with various teams across Brex to address critical questions, solve complex issues, and drive impactful results. Our corporate development initiatives also involve significant contributions to long-term planning and strategic decision-making for the organization.

Position Summary

As the Finance Manager for Commissions, you will be integral to our organizational success by ensuring precise and effective commission frameworks and disbursements for our sales and revenue teams. Your contributions will have a direct influence on the motivation and productivity of our salesforce, enabling us to meet our growth objectives. You will collaborate with senior leadership across multiple departments within our dynamic finance team.

We are looking for a candidate who is enthusiastic about our business, possesses strong analytical capabilities, and exhibits strategic thinking to optimize our commission processes as we scale. The ideal individual should excel in overcoming challenges and be skilled at resolving intricate issues with exceptional organization and attention to detail. Reporting to the Head of Sales Finance, the Finance Manager for Commissions will be a vital member of the Finance team, responsible for the design, implementation, and management of our commission frameworks.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in the design and modeling of commission and sales incentive plans, collaborating with sales management to provide cost-effective solutions and opportunities related to commission and incentive structures.
  • Oversee the strategy, implementation, and reporting of commission and incentive processing policies and procedures.
  • Ensure accurate processing of commission and sales incentive payments.
  • Prepare monthly summaries of commission and sales incentive payments for management, including trend analysis and forecasting.
  • Analyze sales performance data to offer insights and recommendations to senior leadership regarding commission-related decisions.
  • Act as a liaison within the Finance department, promoting alignment with Sales, Revenue, and Operations teams to ensure commission accuracy and effectiveness.
  • Continuously enhance and streamline commission processes to improve efficiency and transparency.
  • Address escalated inquiries regarding complex commission or sales incentive processing issues.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or Accounting is preferred.
  • Experience with the implementation and maintenance of commission management systems.
  • A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in finance, commissions, revenue operations, or sales operations.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven track record of successful collaboration across various functions.
  • Proficient in handling large datasets using Excel or other database systems.
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong work ethic and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Willingness to work in-office on designated days.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced analytical skills and substantial knowledge of US GAAP.
  • Experience in a SaaS company or a business with a recurring revenue model.
  • Familiarity with Salesforce and Looker.

Compensation Overview

The anticipated salary range for this position is $137,600 CAD - $172,000 CAD. The starting base salary will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's location, skills, experience, market demands, and internal pay parity. Depending on the position, equity and other forms of compensation may be included as part of the overall compensation package.
