We are seeking an experienced Project Director to lead our client services team in Victoria, BC. As a key member of our GeoVerra team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality projects on time and on budget while maintaining exceptional client relationships.

The ideal candidate will have a diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology or a related field and at least 3 years of project management experience. Previous leadership experience is preferred, but not required.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead project teams to deliver quality work on time and on budget.
  • Monitor project and team performance, forecasting project outcomes and adjusting as necessary to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Manage client expectations, scope creep, and scope changes through active communication.
  • Engage in diverse leadership responsibilities, including recruitment, onboarding, offboarding, performance management, scheduling, attendance oversight, and administering time off.
  • Motivate and inspire crew members, encouraging high performance and a commitment to excellence.
  • Optimize resource utilization to ensure the successful delivery of multiple projects concurrently.
  • Identify and resolve client, project, and/or team issues.
  • Communicate with clients and internal team members to ensure timely information flow, actions, deliverables, timelines, and budgets.
  • Ensure Quality, safety, legislation, and industry standards are met or exceeded.
  • Foster a high-performance environment, mentoring and supporting the development of self and project team members.

Requirements:

  • Diploma or degree in Geomatics Engineering Technology or a related field.
  • At least 3 years of project management experience, with demonstrated success in managing client expectations, scope, budget/forecast, schedule, and quality sales with new and existing clients.
  • Previous leadership experience is preferred, but not required.
  • Strong leadership qualities, with the ability to inspire and motivate team members.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work without supervision.
  • Effective time management and strong organizational skills while working to project deadlines.
  • Willingsness and ability to travel to sites.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment drug and alcohol screening as per the limits provided in the Canadian Model for Providing a Safe Workplace.
