We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineering Director to join our team at TD Bank.

About the Role

This leadership position is responsible for building, maintaining and evolving the culture and community of Engineers and is accountable for coaching on knowledge, skills and performance, building and evolving their capabilities, and advising engineers on their work to ensure solutions meet business needs and aligned with technology strategies and emerging industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of engineering frameworks, technology, tools, processes and procedures, as well as broader organization issues.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead/ manage a team of Engineers/ Technology Specialists and oversee related engineering analysis activities and deliverables.
  • Provide overall team leadership, training, coaching, development, succession, recruitment and resource management, and ensures on-going performance feedback and assessments occur and development plans exist for each team member.
  • Execute introducing engineering tools, methodologies and processes across the enterprise.
Requirements

The successful candidate will possess:

  • A University or post-graduate degree in a relevant field such as computer science, engineering.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience leading a technology team at all phases of an initiative delivery.
  • Experience managing, building and scaling a multidisciplinary team.
  • Hands-on experience in different software delivery roles.
  • Ability to assess, estimate, challenge data solution options based on standard database technologies, cloud technologies, and programming languages.
  • Good understanding of data governance, data security and data management.

The salary for this role is estimated to be between $136,000 - $183,600 CAD annually, commensurate with experience.
