Technical Engineering Director for System Level Signaling Projects

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Engineering Director to lead our system level signaling project delivery team in Toronto. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for providing technical leadership and direction to ensure successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Project Leadership: Direct and manage the engineering team to achieve company objectives in terms of program schedule, financial, and quality targets.
- Technical Activities: Drive technical activities and manage technical milestones for the bid, including System Requirements (SOR).
- Design Consistency: Ensure consistency of design with the technical solution and Necessary Requirements Criteria (NRCs) as defined by the Project Development Agreement (PDA).
- Engineering Estimates: Consolidate and review functional engineering estimates, hours, technical risks, and opportunities, assumptions, conditions of offer, hardware items, and 3rd-party estimates.
- Bill of Quantity (BOQ): Manage inputs to the BOQ with input from engineering functional teams.
- Milestone Support: Support the bid manager for milestones through contributing slides and participation in milestone meetings.
- Capture Lead Support: Support the capture lead and sales team together with the PDA through interfacing with customers to present/clarify technical solutions and attend workshops.
- Risk and Opportunity Management: Identify and manage technical risks and opportunities during the bid phase.
- Engineering Leadership: Provide engineering leadership to the team assigned to the project to deliver the engineering solution to time, cost, and quality.
- Strategy and Plan: Define and deliver the strategy, plan, and implementation of the overall engineering solution for the project within the defined scope, schedule, and cost baseline.
- Process Application: Ensure that processes, practices, and tools are applied correctly and appropriately on the project to meet company, legislative, regulatory, and international standards (including CENELEC).
- Management Support: Support the Project/Programme Director in the management of change, variation, risk, and opportunity.
- Bachelor's degree or college diploma.
- Strong oral and written communication skills in English.
- 5+ years of experience with system-level signaling project delivery.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Proven customer communication/technical management skills.
- System design of software preponderant systems, safety-critical systems.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
