We are looking for an Associate Technical Director to join our team in North America. You will work closely with a team of experts working alongside our customers on some of North America's most significant projects.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • Perform tasks on projects requiring a broad and deep knowledge in a field of expertise related to tunnels and underground structures. li>
  • Prepare work plans, schedules, and budgets along with preparing engineering reports, specifications, and other technical documents.
  • Lead project teams in the evaluation of tunnel alignments, the geometry of stations & shafts, temporary support systems, geotechnical data, structural analysis, design of tunnels and tunnel liner systems, coffer dams, slurry walls and cross passages.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and manage the production of drawings and specifications for underground projects while also reviewing design options for both technical and financial impact.
  • Perform site and field inspections and condition assessments.

You will be a part of the Leadership team and will:

  • Develop technical networks outside of COWI, including participation in technical conferences, publishing, and presenting technical papers.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership in the development of technical solutions for underground projects.
  • Promote "one COWI network" including staff sharing.
  • Be responsible for hiring in conjunction with the Head of Section, Project Director and VP Ops.

    On top of that, you will have:

    • Degree in structural engineering or civil engineering or geotechnical engineering or field related to Underground Construction/Tunnelling
    • P.Licenses in US states an asset.
    • Experience in the delivery of Design-Build underground projects at all phases, including feasibility/ conceptual studies to detailed design.
    • Extensive experience in the tunneling/underground industry along with substantial technical management experience for small to large scale tunnel and underground projects.
