The Edmonton Police Service seeks an experienced supervisor to oversee the day-to-day operations of the Crime Classification Unit. This role involves managing staff, coordinating with internal and external stakeholders, and ensuring the efficient processing of police case files.
Responsibilities- Manage daily operations in the Crime Classification Unit to ensure seamless service delivery and coordination with industry partners and EPS stakeholders.
- Liaise with the National Data Manager Committee to discuss legislative changes and implement updates to the UCR manual.
- Review and approve staffing schedules, including extra pay claims, and provide reports on staff performance.
- Lead a team of crime classifiers, setting performance goals and monitoring progress.
- Diploma or degree in Criminal Justice or related field.
- Five years of experience in leading and supervising a medium to large work group, preferably in law enforcement.
- Strong understanding of statistics and data analysis.
- Experience with computer programs, including Microsoft Office and police databases.
- Salary Range: $33.943 - $42.466 per hour (equivalent to $70,872.98 - $88,669.01 annually).
- 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Candidates must undergo an Enhanced Security Clearance as part of the hiring process.
