Job Title: Technical Sales Representative

About Us: Groom & Associates(és) is a leading company in the commercial refrigeration industry, dedicated to providing innovative solutions to our clients.

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Technical Sales Representative to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in sales, excellent communication skills, and a passion for building relationships with customers.

Responsibilities:

  • Travel within the assigned territory, including overnight travel, to manage, grow, and maintain existing customers, as well as acquire new customers.
  • Focus sales efforts by calling on current customers throughout the assigned sales area.
  • Build and support relationships with key customers.
  • Prospect and develop new customers.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education.
  • Attend trade shows, professional seminars, and internal company events.
  • Achieve sales targets as established by the organization.
  • Be technically proficient and mechanically inclined, able to assist clients with technical questions related to equipment, installations, etc.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of professional outside sales experience.
  • Post-secondary education or combination of education and previous professional sales experience will be considered.
  • Experience, knowledge, and current relationships in the retail supermarket and food and beverage industry.
  • Strong presentation and public speaking skills.
  • Team player with a positive and professional attitude.
  • Superior customer service skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Superior ability to build and grow business relationships.
  • Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
  • Able to work independently, make solid decisions, and work as part of a team.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment managing multiple accounts.
  • Ability to maintain professional and technical knowledge through continuing education/training.
  • Mechanically inclined, able to work with professionals on job sites with guidance from the service department.
  • Knowledge of Word and Excel.
  • Valid driver's license.
