Strategic Donor Engagement Specialist

The University of Lethbridge is a premier institution seeking a highly skilled Strategic Donor Engagement Specialist. This full-time position plays a crucial role in advancing the university's key priorities and inspiring continued philanthropy through effective donor relations.This position requires strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to develop and implement engaging recognition programs that deepen relationships with donors, alumni, and community members. The successful candidate will work closely with frontline fundraisers, leadership, and annual and major giving relationship managers to ensure all donors receive outstanding gratitude, acknowledgement, and recognition.
A strong collaboration skillset, with the ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders, is essential for this role. The ideal candidate will possess superior written and verbal communication skills, with experience working within existing brand guidelines. Additionally, advanced organizational and time management skills, as well as research, synthesis, analysis, writing, and presentation skills, are necessary to prepare reports and recommendations. Experience advising clients and colleagues, negotiating project scope, and timelines would be an asset. A high degree of tact and diplomacy is also required when handling confidential information.
The successful candidate will lead the development of materials such as thank you cards, packages, and letters, and work to document and enhance processes relating to gift acknowledgement and recognition. Once established, this position is responsible for the maintenance and regular review of donor communications materials and tools to ensure they meet technological, operational, and procedural requirements.
We offer a competitive salary range of $4,772.00 - $6,034.00 monthly (AUPE - Grade 11).
