About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at Shabad Transport Inc. As a key member of our procurement team, you will be responsible for planning and controlling budget and expenditures, developing and implementing purchasing policies and procedures, and overseeing the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services to ensure optimal value for the company
  • Authorize the development of specifications for products or services to meet company requirements
  • Manage contracts with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods or services
  • Review and process claims against suppliers to ensure fair and timely resolution
  • Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform procurement decisions
  • Prepare reports to senior management on procurement activities and results
  • Advise senior management on procurement strategies and initiatives
  • Assign, coordinate, and review projects and programs to ensure successful implementation
  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate daily operations to ensure efficient and effective use of resources
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years
  • Work setting: Urban area
  • Budgetary responsibility: $1,500,001 - $4,000,000
  • Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Word
  • Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, large caseload, large workload
  • Personal suitability: Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, team player
  • Government programs: Recognized employer, work term: permanent, work language: English, hours: 40 hours per week
