About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Purchasing Manager to join our team at Shabad Transport Inc. Key Responsibilities
  • Plan and control budget and expenditures to ensure efficient use of resources
  • Develop and implement purchasing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with company standards
  • Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of goods or services to ensure optimal value for the company
  • Authorize the development of specifications for products or services to meet company requirements
  • Manage contracts with suppliers to ensure timely delivery and quality of goods or services
  • Review and process claims against suppliers to ensure fair and timely resolution
  • Oversee the analysis of data and information to inform procurement decisions
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on procurement activities and results
  • Advise senior management on procurement strategies and initiatives
  • Assign, coordinate, and review projects and programs to ensure timely completion and quality of results
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in a relevant field
  • Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years in a purchasing or procurement role
  • Work setting: Urban area
  • Budgetary responsibility: $1,500,001 - $4,000,000
  • Computer and technology knowledge: MS Office, MS Outlook, MS Word
  • Transportation/travel information: Public transportation is available
  • Work conditions and physical capabilities: Fast-paced environment, work under pressure, tight deadlines, attention to detail, large caseload, large workload
  • Personal suitability: Dependability, flexibility, initiative, judgement, organized, team player
  • Government programs: Recognized employer, work term: permanent, work language: English, hours: 40 hours per week
