Staff Accountant

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at CB Canada. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of our indirect tax and accounting processes.
Key Responsibilities- Indirect Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit GST/PST tax returns and remittances, as well as withholding tax computations and filings.
- Account Reconciliation: Reconcile accounts receivable, vendor rebates, and intercompany accounts, ensuring accurate and timely settlements.
- Financial Analysis: Analyze variances and prepare quarterly comparison reports for accounts receivable and prepaid expenses.
- Holdback Reconciliation: Prepare and initiate transfers to/from the holdback bank account.
- Consolidated Working Paper: Prepare consolidated working papers for accounts receivable, prepaid expenses, holdback, security deposits, and foreign exchange.
- Related Party Compliance: Prepare related party compliance reports and coordinate with the legal department.
- Communication and Collaboration: Communicate effectively with operational departments, build strong working relationships with guests, employees, management, and auditors.
- Education and Experience: Minimum 3 years of experience in accounting or finance, post-secondary education in accounting/finance or suitable combination of education and experience.
- Accounting Knowledge: In-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices, and procedures.
- Computer Literacy: Proficiency in MS Office and JDE or other related accounting software.
