Clinical Respiratory Therapist Specialist

At Alberta Health Services, we are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Respiratory Therapist Specialist to join our team. This is a great opportunity for a motivated individual to work in a dynamic environment and make a meaningful contribution to patient care.
About the RoleThe University of Alberta Hospital is one of Canada's leading clinical, research and teaching hospitals, treating more than 700,000 patients annually from western and northern Canada. The hospital offers a wide range of diagnostic and treatment services, including specialized services within cardiac sciences, neurosciences, surgery, medicine, renal, critical care, burns, emergency, transplant and trauma.
This position involves working as a Regularized Relief member, providing respiratory therapy care to patients and collaborating with various clinical teams to enhance clinical outcomes.
Key Responsibilities- Assess patients and develop and implement respiratory therapy care plans
- Monitor patient progress and provide training and support to healthcare providers
- Collaborate with clinical teams to enhance clinical outcomes
- Provide education to patients and their families regarding diseases, medications, equipment and treatments
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Active or eligible registration with the College and Association of Respiratory Therapists of Alberta (CARTA)
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification
- Demonstrated competency in all phases of the job, adaptability to new procedures and information, and current knowledge of respiratory therapy advances
- Strong communication, organization and consistency of ideas, both verbally and written, including clinical documentation
Acute or critical care experience, orientation to the position's major and minor clinical areas, and current charge experience would be an asset.
What We OfferAs a Clinical Respiratory Therapist Specialist with Alberta Health Services, you can expect a competitive salary of $73,500 - $93,600 per year, depending on your level of experience and qualifications.
