Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Manager to lead the Rail Traffic Management project. This is a key role in the City's Rail Construction Program, responsible for managing the traffic works of the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the traffic works of the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit project
  • Oversee works associated with multiple phases of the project
  • Participate in planning, prioritization, and risk management
  • Perform site coordination and communication
  • Ensure compliance with all requirements
  • Interface with contractors, consultants, and external stakeholders
  • Monitor, track, and report on project status
  • Perform site visits and review submittals and payment requests
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, or Structural Engineering, or Architecture
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience in the discipline of planning, design, and construction of projects
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction project management experience
  • Desirable qualifications include experience in Light Rail and experience with SAP-PS
Competencies, Skills, and Abilities
  • Strong knowledge of project requirements, traffic codes, and standards
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
What You Need to Know
  • Language Requirement: English oral, reading, writing
  • Experience and formal training combined with demonstrated performance and ability may substitute for stipulated academic requirements
