Rail Traffic Management Project Coordinator

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Rail Construction Program as a Project Manager, Rail Traffic Management. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and project management skills to oversee the traffic management aspects of the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit project.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee traffic management activities for the Stage 2 LRT project, including reviewing traffic control plans and staging design drawings.
- Monitor, track, and report on traffic works, and perform site visits to ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Collaborate with the City's traffic services team and interface with contractors to coordinate proposed traffic closures and resolve traffic-related issues.
- Develop strategies to advance construction works while minimizing traffic impacts to the public, and ensure deficiency resolution within the traffic budget.
- Completion of a 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning, with a transportation focus.
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience in traffic-related project management.
- Strong knowledge of City of Ottawa Official Plan (OP), Transportation Master Plan (TMP), and Provincial Environmental Assessment/Highway Traffic/Municipal Acts.
- Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to analyze problems and develop innovative solutions.
