Job Summary

The City of Ottawa is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Rail Construction Program as a Project Manager, Rail Traffic Management. This is a critical role that requires strong leadership and project management skills to oversee the traffic management aspects of the Stage 2 Light Rail Transit (LRT) project.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the traffic management aspects of the Stage 2 LRT project, including traffic works associated with multiple phases of the project.
  • Review and approve traffic submittals, including traffic control plans and staging design drawings.
  • Monitor, track, and report on traffic works, and perform site visits as required.
  • Work closely with the City's traffic services team to ensure effective traffic management.
  • Interface with contractors and coordinate proposed traffic closures with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Resolve traffic-related issues and develop strategies to advance construction works while minimizing traffic impacts to the public.
Requirements
  • Completion of a 4-year university degree in Civil Engineering or Urban Planning, with a transportation focus.
  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience, with at least 3 years of direct experience in traffic-related project management.
  • Strong knowledge of transportation planning and management principles, including traffic management guidelines and standards.
  • Excellent communication and project management skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders and teams.
  • Ability to analyze complex problems and develop innovative solutions.
