The Lac La Ronge Indian Band's Operations & Maintenance Department is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Executive Chef to lead the culinary team at our Woodland Wellness Centre in La Ronge, SK.
Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, inventory management, and staff supervision. This is a full-time position that requires a high level of expertise, leadership skills, and attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities:
- Food Service Management: Ensure efficient and smooth operations of the kitchen, including food preparation, menu planning, and inventory management.
- Staff Supervision: Supervise and train kitchen staff, including hiring, scheduling, and performance management.
- Culinary Innovation: Develop and implement new menu ideas, recipes, and cooking techniques to promote healthy eating and wellness.
- Food Safety and Quality: Maintain high standards of food safety, sanitation, and quality control to minimize health risks and ensure customer satisfaction.
- Inventory Management: Order food supplies, manage inventory levels, and optimize resource allocation to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Financial Management: Utilize analytical and practical costing methods to track and manage food expenses, ensuring all operations stay within budget.
- Customer Service: Provide excellent customer service, including addressing special diets and allergies, and ensuring that all customers receive high-quality food and service.
Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent, with job-specific training and certifications in food safety and handling.
- Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience as a Head Cook or Executive Chef, with supervisory experience and a proven track record of success.
- Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Proficiency in computer software and technology, including inventory management systems and financial software.
- Language: Ability to speak and understand Cree language is an asset.
- Certifications: Saskatchewan Safe Food Handling Certificate and Class 5 Driver License required.
