The Role

The President's Office Manager and Executive Assistant provides strategic leadership and operational oversight to the President's Office, ensuring the effective execution of the university's mission and goals. This role requires a high level of discretion, professionalism, and attention to detail.

The successful candidate will work closely with the President to ensure the smooth operation of the Office, providing administrative support, coordinating meetings and events, and managing the President's schedule. This includes preparing agendas, minutes, and records of meetings, as well as coordinating with various stakeholders, including faculty, staff, students, and external partners.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage Board Governance and Membership Matters: The President's Office Manager will oversee all matters related to the Board of Governors, including supporting the Secretary of the Board and the Board Chair in ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the Board.
  • Work closely with the President and President's Council on operational and strategic matters: The President's Office Manager will serve as the Executive Secretary of the President's Council, monitoring and reporting on activities and decisions, and managing the execution of actions and decisions that are the responsibility of the President's Office.
  • Collaborate with individuals across campus to ensure operational and strategic activities by the President and the President's Office: The President's Office Manager will work closely with various areas of the university to ensure clear communication of the mission and vision, and to aid in the representation of the university to external stakeholders.
  • Manage Office communication: The President's Office Manager will communicate direction on behalf of the President to internal and external stakeholders, responding to communications, meeting requests, and other correspondence in a timely and effective manner.
  • Counsel, advise, and support the President on day-to-day President's Office operations: The President's Office Manager will collaborate with marketing and communications and external relations divisions in the creation of executive-level communications, supporting the President in ensuring the professional nature of the President's communications.
Preferred Skills and Attributes
  • Experience in an educational setting, especially a university or post-secondary environment is an asset.
  • Knowledge/experience of/with boards and board operations (including policies and processes boards use), project management systems, and public relations/constituent/stakeholder engagement are strongly desired.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including a strong understanding of style/branding cohesion.
  • Ability to function in a dynamic environment and adapt to changing priorities and demands.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Initiative.
  • Agility.
Education, Training & Certifications
  • A Bachelor's Degree and/or equivalent is required, plus a minimum of 5 years of work experience in an executive assistant or office manager role.
Other Requirements

Understanding of Redeemer University College's Mission, Values, and Reformed Christian identity is essential.
