Job Summary

The Track Maintainer is a key member of our team responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our railway infrastructure. This role requires a strong understanding of track maintenance principles and practices, as well as excellent communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular track inspections to identify and report defects or issues
  • Perform repairs and maintenance on track components, including rail, ties, and switch points
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Collaborate with the Track Maintenance Foreman to prioritize and schedule maintenance activities
  • Develop and implement procedures to improve track maintenance efficiency and safety
Requirements
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in track maintenance or a related field
  • Knowledge of track inspection guidelines and Canadian Railway Operating Rules
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Valid Ontario class G driver's license
Working Conditions

The Track Maintainer will work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions, including extreme temperatures. The role requires frequent standing, walking, and lifting, as well as exposure to loud noise and live track/trains.
