Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team as a Public Health Resource Nurse. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, providing public health nursing clinical advice, support, mentorship, and education to personnel responsible for delivering public health services.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide public health nursing clinical advice, support, mentorship, and education to personnel responsible for delivering public health services.
  • Assess, plan, organize, manage, and evaluate public health support and monitor, evaluate, and report on public health key indicators.
  • Coordinate the delivery of local mass immunization clinics, the local public health response to a public health crisis, and the follow-up and management of complex communicable diseases.
  • Work in collaboration with the Regional Public Health Leads, the IPT Leads, Primary Care Nurses (PCNs), and the Community Service Managers (CSMs).
Requirements
  • Registration with BC College of Nurses and Midwives as a practicing RN registrant.
  • Two (2) years recent, related public health nursing experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Current BCCDC Immunization Certification.
  • Current CPR certification at the basic life support level.
  • Class V Driver's License.

  • Teaching skills, with the ability to transmit information intended to instruct clients and others about topics essential to health care and well-being.
  • Assessment and intervention skills, with the ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments (clinical and diagnostic reasoning) and provide nursing care through appropriate/prescribed technical, therapeutic, safety-type interventions.
  • Ability to operate related equipment, including proven ability to utilize computer technology.
  • Physical ability to perform the duties of the position.
