Position Overview

Are you dedicated to promoting public health and safety? We are seeking a certified Public Health Inspector who is eager to apply their expertise in a vibrant and impactful role. This position offers a unique opportunity to utilize your skills in safeguarding community health.

A practicum in Public Health Inspection is a prerequisite for this role.

To express interest in a practicum, please direct your request to the Team Lead – Environmental Health. In alignment with the organization's established vision and values, the Environmental Health Officer is tasked with executing a comprehensive program aimed at environmental health safeguarding.

Employing a range of professional and technical competencies, this role aims to diminish the occurrence of communicable diseases, injuries, and health risks; conducts technical evaluations; provides consultative and educational services; ensures that community development aligns with environmental health standards; and guarantees adherence to environmental health legislation, policies, and guidelines.


Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Daytime - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or an equivalent qualification recognized by the Board of Certification, Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors and eligibility for registration with the Institute.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
