Position Overview

Are you passionate about safeguarding public health? We are seeking a certified Public Health Inspector eager to leverage their expertise in a vibrant and impactful role. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the health and safety of our community.

A practicum in Public Health Inspection is a prerequisite for this role.

To express interest in a practicum, please reach out to the Team Lead – Environmental Health. In alignment with the organization's established vision and values, the Environmental Health Officer will implement a comprehensive program focused on environmental health safeguarding.

Utilizing a diverse set of professional and technical competencies, this role aims to minimize the occurrence of communicable diseases, injuries, and health risks; conduct technical evaluations; provide consultative and educational services; ensure that community development aligns with environmental health standards; and guarantee adherence to environmental health legislation, policies, and guidelines.


Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, Day Shift - 08:30 to 16:30

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent, recognized by the Board of Certification, Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
  • Certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada) issued by the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors and eligibility for registration with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors.
  • Valid BC Class 5 Driver's License and access to a personal vehicle.
