Job Title: Speech Language Pathologist

Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Community Stroke Rehab Clinic. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care, including assessment and therapy, to outpatients and inpatients in need of SLP services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess and treat communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.
  • Manage dysphagia, including screening, assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with professional colleagues to provide safe and quality care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
Requirements:
  • Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
  • Experience in conducting clinical swallowing evaluations and video-fluoroscopic swallowing studies.
  • Ability to provide clinical education and patient education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • Experience working with a stroke population and in a rehabilitation setting.
  • Prior experience in an acute care setting is an asset.
