Job Summary

Mackenzie Health is seeking a skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in the Community Stroke Rehab Clinic. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to outpatients and inpatients in need of speech and language services.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assess and treat patients with communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.
  • Manage dysphagia, including screening, assessment, treatment, and education.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Conduct clinical swallowing evaluations and video-fluoroscopic swallowing studies.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
  • Experience in stroke rehabilitation and clinical swallowing evaluations.
  • Ability to work independently and lead clinical teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
  • OSLA or SAC membership.
  • 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Experience working with stroke populations and in rehabilitation settings.
