Speech Language Pathologist

Job Summary
Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our team in a Community Stroke Rehab Clinic setting. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care, including assessment and therapy, to outpatients in need of Speech Language Pathology services.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for patients with communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, dysarthria, and cognitive-communication impairment.
- Provide individual and group therapy sessions to patients, including speech, language, and cognitive therapy.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement patient care plans.
- Conduct dysphagia management, including screening, assessment, treatment, and education.
- Develop and implement patient education programs to promote independence and community reintegration.
Requirements
- Master's Degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited and recognized university.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate.
- Minimum 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist, preferably in a rehabilitation setting.
- Experience working with stroke populations and prior experience in an acute care setting is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO).
- OSLA or SAC Membership is an asset.
