Job Summary:
Mackenzie Health is seeking a highly skilled Speech Language Pathologist to join our Community Stroke Rehab Clinic team. As a Speech Language Pathologist, you will be responsible for providing direct clinical care to outpatients in need of Speech Language Pathology services.
Key Responsibilities:- Assess and treat patients with communication disorders, including aphasia, apraxia, and dysarthria.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans to improve communication skills.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive care.
- Conduct clinical swallowing evaluations and provide education to patients and families.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
- Master's degree in Speech Language Pathology from an accredited university.
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification.
- Experience working with stroke patients and rehabilitation settings is an asset.
- Membership in good standing with the College of Audiologist and Speech Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO) is preferred.
- 1-3 years of experience as a Speech Language Pathologist.
- Experience working with a stroke population and in rehabilitation settings.
- Membership in the Ontario Speech-Language Pathology Association (OSLA) or Speech-Language & Audiology Canada (SAC) is an asset.
