Position Overview:

As a Aircraft Avionics and Electrical Systems Specialist, you will perform maintenance on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems. Your tasks will include servicing, inspecting, removing, cleaning, repairing, installing, adjusting, testing, and certifying aircraft systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete aircraft maintenance documentation for the electronic record keeping system.
  • Perform aircraft release when assigned, trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Participate in ramp duties, including pre/post flight inspections and support, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installing/removing mission equipment.
  • Conduct ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units when trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Fly as necessary in support of maintenance, ferry, and deployed operations.
  • Deploy to other main operating bases or remote sites for mobile repair parties and ferry flights.
  • Work shift work, as required and assigned.
  • Provide on-job-training to other employees, including task supervision.
  • Attend training for trade and professional development and qualification/certification purposes.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, removing debris and performing foreign object debris inspections.
  • Ensure hangar, shop, stores, and office areas are clean and swept.
  • Adhere to policies, procedures, and directives established by the Company.
  • Perform other tasks as may be required.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plant, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental, basic structures, avionic, and power generation and distribution systems.
  • Ability to operate test equipment in support of aircraft maintenance.
  • Knowledge of Electronic Record Keeping System (ERKS) procedures.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control techniques.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation, such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Capable of performing Non-destructive Inspection, when trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and specialized ones as may be necessary.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver s license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician within the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years experience in helicopter maintenance is required.
