Aircraft Maintenance Engineer

At IMP Aerospace & Defence, we are seeking a skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for performing maintenance tasks on aircraft mechanical, structural, and electrical systems and components.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Complete maintenance documentation for the electronic record keeping system (ERKS).
  • Perform aircraft release (ARA) when assigned, trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Participate in ramp duties, including pre/post-flight inspections, marshalling, parking, towing, fueling/defueling, and installation/removal of required mission equipment.
  • Conduct ground runs of engines and auxiliary power units, as trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Assist with maintenance, ferry, and deployed operations, as necessary.
  • Deploy to other main operating bases and/or remote sites, as required.
  • Work shift work, as assigned.
  • Provide on-the-job training to other employees, including task supervision.
  • Attend training for trade and professional development purposes.
  • Remove debris and maintain a clean, safe work area, performing foreign object debris (FOD) inspections.

Requirements:

  • Thorough knowledge of aircraft systems, including power plant, flight controls, dynamic systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, environmental systems, basic structures, avionic systems, and power generation and distribution systems.
  • Ability to operate test equipment in support of aircraft maintenance.
  • Knowledge of ERKS procedures.
  • Knowledge of Quality Systems.
  • Knowledge of corrosion control techniques.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical documentation, such as maintenance manuals, work packages, drawings, blueprints, and Standard Plant Procedures.
  • Capable of performing Non-destructive Inspection, as trained, qualified, and authorized.
  • Ability to use standard computer programs and specialized ones as may be necessary.
  • Possess and maintain a valid driver's license to operate company vehicles and tow tractors.
  • Graduate of a recognized aircraft maintenance course or apprenticeship program and hold a current Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license or be qualified as an aircraft aviation technician within the Canadian Armed Forces or equivalent commercial experience.
  • A minimum of 3 years of experience in helicopter maintenance is required.
