Shackleton Duke Ltd operates as a medium-sized general contractor primarily as a Design Builder, recognized as a Butler Dealer for pre-engineered structures. The company performs various services including design-build contracts, construction management, and general contracting on lump sum tendered work.
The company's primary goal is to successfully implement construction management services for assigned contracts. Project Managers are selected by the President or Vice President and report directly to them, serving as the critical link between the corporate office and job sites.
Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Construction Manager/Project Execution Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for implementing construction management services for assigned contracts. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in managing construction projects.
Key Responsibilities- Establish and maintain relationships with clients, designers, contractors, and field personnel.
- Support Site Superintendents in their roles and responsibilities as site authorities.
- Ensure implementation of the client's Health and Safety Program.
- Implement Quality Control plans and methodologies.
- M meet with Sales and Design Teams, Estimators, and other stakeholders to review project details and constructability issues.
- Develop Critical Path schedules with assistance from Superintendents and key subcontractors.
- Conduct thorough site reviews to establish site working plans and evaluate potential hazards.
- Set up cost control and filing systems according to corporate policies and procedures.
- In consultation with clients and Superintendents, establish schedules for site meetings, billing processes, change order procedures, and submission schedules based on project schedules.
- Fully execute contract requirements with support from Superintendents and site staff.
- Attend site regularly to review progress and provide support as needed.
- Complete buyouts of trade contractors, suppliers, and materials within planned budget costs.
- Update project schedules, particularly Critical Paths, with input from key trade contractors, consultants, suppliers, and Superintendents.
- Ensure all Health and Safety documents are in place according to corporate Health and Safety Programs.
- Provide site staff with appropriate costs and quantities from project estimates and budgets for monitoring.
- Establish schedules and requirements for testing and inspection and general Quality Assurance and Quality Control guidelines for projects.
- Conduct bi-weekly site meetings with key trades and prepare required agendas and minutes.
- Maintain organized documentation and correction systems during projects.
- Schedule and execute closeout inspections with relevant authorities.
- Ensure Trade Contractors submit required closeout documents before releasing final payments.
We offer a competitive salary range of $70,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
