Job Description:

The Assistant Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all federal, provincial and local laws, while adhering to OH&S rules and regulations. This includes assisting in the mobilization and directing of resources assigned to achieve maximum contribution to fixed costs and profits.

The successful candidate will also establish and monitor construction work schedules as directed, allocate work to and supervise the activities of all foremen assigned to the project, and assist in the creation of accurate forecasts of financial status for assigned projects.

In addition, the Assistant Superintendent will maintain positive customer relationships, prepare all reporting as per current procedures, and assist in the hiring and development of project staff.

Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations
  • Assist in the mobilization and directing of resources
  • Establish and monitor construction work schedules
  • Supervise the activities of foremen
  • Assist in the creation of financial forecasts
  • Maintain positive customer relationships
  • Prepare reporting and assist in staffing

Requirements:

  • University degree in civil engineering or Civil Engineering Technologist Diploma
  • 3-5 years experience as an Assistant Superintendent within Heavy Civil, Roads or Bridges and working experience with MTO
  • P3 Project experience (Design-Build etc.) is an asset
