Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Apartment Building Maintenance Worker to join our team at Alberta Ltd. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our commercial building and shopping centre.

Responsibilities
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Sweep, mop, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs; operate industrial vacuum cleaners to remove scraps, dirt, heavy debris, and other refuse; empty trash cans and other waste containers.
  • Repairs and Maintenance: Contact contractors for repairs and maintenance of the establishment; perform safety and security checks.
  • Equipment Operation: Use small tractors (lawn/snow removal attachments) as needed.
  • Support for Newcomers and Refugees: Recruit newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster; support newcomers and/or refugees with foreign credential recognition.
  • Support for Indigenous People: Develop and maintain relationships with indigenous communities, indigenous-owned businesses, and organizations.
  • Support for Visible Minorities: Offer mentorship programs that pair members of visible minorities with experienced employees; provide diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities.
Requirements
  • Education: No degree, certificate, or diploma required.
  • Experience: 1 to less than 7 months of experience in a related field.
  • Work Setting: Commercial building and shopping centre.
  • Work Language: English.
  • Hours: 40 hours per week.
