Job Summary

The Government of Northwest Territories is seeking a highly skilled Environmental Laboratory Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for receiving and analyzing environmental samples for chemical, molecular, and microbiological parameters.

Key Responsibilities

  • Receive and process environmental samples for analysis
  • Analyze samples using manual and modern instrumentation methods
  • Conduct quality control and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate results
  • Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure efficient and effective laboratory operations
  • Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols as needed

Requirements

  • Diploma from a recognized environmental or chemical laboratory technology program or a degree in a relevant field of science
  • Minimum of two years' experience working in an environmental testing laboratory
  • Knowledge of laboratory quality assurance and quality control practices
  • Ability to safely handle hazardous materials and equipment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Working Conditions

This is a term position with a salary range of $44.83 per hour to $53.55 per hour, plus an annual Northern Allowance of $3,700.
