As a key member of the Public Works Department, the Regulatory and Environmental Specialist II plays a crucial role in coordinating and leading the planning, implementation, and reporting of infrastructure, environmental compliance, municipal services, and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Coordinate and lead the planning, implementation, and reporting of infrastructure, environmental compliance, municipal services, and programs.
  2. Support and act as a project manager on multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  3. Collaborate with the Manager, Environmental Impact and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure alignment with the City's short and long-term strategic objectives.
  4. Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including community groups, Indigenous organizations, and other government agencies.
  5. Provide technical expertise and guidance on environmental and regulatory matters.

Requirements:

  1. A University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other applied science relevant to the position.
  2. A minimum of 6 years related experience in environmental and regulatory, or in other related fields including experience in project management.
  3. A valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License.
  4. Proficiency in MS Office Suite and demonstrated experience with project management software.
