Job Summary

The City of Yellowknife is seeking a highly skilled Regulatory and Environmental Specialist II to join our Public Works Department. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for coordinating and leading the planning, implementation, and reporting of infrastructure, environmental compliance, municipal services, and programs in accordance with the City's strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the planning, implementation, and reporting of infrastructure, environmental compliance, municipal services, and programs.
  • Support and act as a project manager on multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment with the City's strategic objectives and goals.
Requirements
  • University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other applied science relevant to the position.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in environmental and regulatory, or in other related fields, including experience in project management.
  • Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite and demonstrated experience with project management software.
