Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and lead the planning, implementation, and reporting of infrastructure, environmental compliance, municipal services, and programs.
  • Support and act as a project manager on multi-million-dollar capital projects.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, community groups, and industry partners.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on environmental and regulatory matters, ensuring compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and policies.
  • Collaborate with other departments and teams to ensure seamless delivery of services and programs.
Requirements
  • University degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry, Biology, or other applied science relevant to the position.
  • Minimum of 6 years of related experience in environmental and regulatory affairs, or in other related fields, including experience in project management.
  • Valid NWT Class 5 Driver's License.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and experience with project management software.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
What We Offer

The City of Yellowknife offers a competitive annual salary range of $96,669.01, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including a defined benefit pension plan, and monthly housing and vacation travel allowances totaling $450.
