About the Opportunity

As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with Nova Scotia Health, you will play a vital role in our Diagnostic Imaging Department. Your primary responsibility will be to perform routine and specialized ultrasound procedures, ensuring proper application of ultrasound techniques and procedures.

This position requires a graduate of an accredited School of Diagnostic Medical Ultrasound, Sonography Canada certification, Nova Scotia College of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy Professionals (NSCMIRTP) licensure, and Current CPR Certification. Previous experience is an asset, as is registration with more than one ultrasound credential. Competencies in other languages, particularly French, are also an asset.

The ideal candidate will possess excellent comprehension of technical language, enabling them to review and utilize manuals and participate in relevant discussions. Strong communication skills are essential for effective collaboration with the healthcare team.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive hourly rate of $34.24-$39.96, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage, as well as a defined benefit pension plan.

This permanent full-time position involves 75 hours biweekly, with call back and stand by requirements. Successful candidates may also be eligible for up to $30,000 signing bonus and up to $5,000 of relocation assistance with a defined Return of Service contract.
